    beauty, after is part of my ongoing beauty project, which began in 2019. Written for piano and percussion, with optional electronics and lighting, the work continues an extended exploration of the concept of beauty through sound, performance, and perception. The piece has been performed a few times by percussionist Josh Perry and pianist Yumi Suehiro as part of ensemble mise-en’s concert series, including presentations at MISE-EN_PLACE and the MISE-EN Festival 2026.     This piece is part of my “beauty” series, which explores broader questions about the kind of music I want to create—the purpose behind my work, the originality of my compositions, and how I can challenge myself while remaining true to my own voice.
